Going back on medication

Posted in Group:

I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 7 and began taking several medications shortly after, I tried a lot of different meds (adderall, concerta, ritalin, etc) but they all really messed with my appetite. I was 20 lbs underweight for most of my life and it was mostly due to my medicines. When I turned 14, they put me on a newer one called vyvanse and also put me on zoloft and another one for anxiety (I can remember the name of it, though). I was doing fine for a long time. but I wanted to join the army. and you have to be off of all of those for at least a year. So I went cold turkey off my vyvanse and weaned off my zoloft. And that started my freshman year of college. It was an awful semester. I failed two classes. and I couldn;t stay awake. So for this coming semester, I'm going back on them and I'm really nervous about it. I feel like I dug myself into a hole last semester and it's going to be hellish to get back on track. So there's all that.

You are in my prayers. If you can, get a second opinion from the doctor regarding all this medicine, this way you will feel more comfortable. Wishing you health and happiness. God bless you.

Have you read any books about indigo children? If not, I would suggest you do. You can always check the ratings on Amazon.com. They explain the nature of ADHD and the negative effects that the medication can have. There is also some information available on the Internet.
